Javier Sáez Hurtado
Founder of Convexify · Head of AI Heroes at Learning Heroes
Javier Sáez Hurtado is the founder of Convexify, a boutique AI firm based in Andorra that designs and builds AI agents, intelligent products and AI strategy for organisations with complex, high-context problems. He also leads the AI Heroes programme at Learning Heroes, a Spanish-language AI education company.

What he works on
Where language models meet real operations.
Systems that reason over a company’s own knowledge, take bounded actions inside existing tools, and remain accountable to the people who own the outcome.
Multi-agent architectures
Specialised agents for retrieval, reasoning, tool use and evaluation, orchestrated around a shared objective with explicit human checkpoints and observability from day one.
Knowledge systems
Archives, documents and tacit expertise turned into structured, queryable context that agents and people can trust: domain ontologies and retrieval pipelines built for a specific business rather than a generic index.
Conversational and recommendation products
Client-facing experiences where an assistant advises, recommends or guides, designed around judgement and taste rather than a chat box bolted onto a catalogue.
Evaluation and trust
Test sets built from real work, offline and online evaluation, and autonomy that expands only with evidence. If it cannot be measured against representative cases, it does not ship.
Capability transfer
Documentation, training and joint delivery so the client's team can operate and extend the system without Convexify.
How he works
Small teams. Short loops. Visible evidence.
He tends to start by removing fragility (dependencies, undocumented knowledge, single points of failure) before adding intelligence, keeps the core of a business protected while running bolder experiments at the edges, and prefers several reusable capabilities to one irreversible bet.
The influences are explicit: antifragility, optionality, the Lindy effect, and a strong preference for systems that leave the organisation stronger than they found it.
Background
From medicine to systems.
Javier studied Medicine at the Universidad de Valladolid from 2014 to 2020, completing five of the six years and working as an intern researcher at the Instituto de Biología y Genética Molecular (IBGM) between 2016 and 2018, before leaving the degree to work in digital education and product.
In December 2018 he founded Paradigmia, a non-profit anatomy education project that took part in Y Combinator’s Startup School (2019–2020); the association was dissolved in 2025 and its educational content remains freely available. He holds an MBA in Digital Entrepreneurship from IEBS Business School (2018–2019), was Marketing Manager at IEBS Business School (2020–2021) and Product and Sales Director at Xperiencia Virtual (2022–2024). He joined Learning Heroes in November 2024 and founded Convexify SLU in 2025. He lives in Andorra.

Questions people ask
- What does Javier Sáez Hurtado do at Convexify?
- He founded Convexify in 2025 and leads every engagement: the AI thesis, the architecture and the delivery. He works directly with the client's team rather than through account layers.
- What kind of systems does he build?
- Multi-agent architectures, knowledge systems built on a company's own documents and expertise, conversational and recommendation products, and the evaluation that decides whether any of it ships.
- How does an engagement with him start?
- With a conversation about the hard problem, not a pitch. He replies with a recommendation, a small engagement shape, or an honest no if Convexify is not the right fit.
- Is Convexify a product company or a consultancy?
- Both, deliberately. Convexify designs strategy and builds bespoke systems, and packages what it learns into reusable products the client's team owns and operates.
